With its carefully preserved original features, spectacular surroundings, and comfortable accommodation, Moulin du Fontcourt is Un lieu de paix – A place of peace. Many of our visitors tell us they stay with us because we are the perfect setting for a romantic getaway. For some we are a comfortable place for reflection that helps to spark their creativity. Others simply want a break somewhere that will help them unwind and decompress. Whatever their reason for visiting, our guest love Moulin du Foncourt.
When you visit you will love how our walled courtyard and tree lined walkways set the scene for the stunning gardens. The spectacular grounds are a real suntrap in the summer months but, whatever time of year you visit, you will always find yourself surrounded by the colours of nature. The gardens have been carefully planned to reflect the beauty of every season and transform gracefully from the first burst of green in Spring through the final russets of Autumn. It’s not unusual to see our visitors start their day by enjoying the gardens on a morning walk in the fresh air.
located in Chasseneuil-sur-Bonnieure, a commune in the Charente department of South west France, the hotel is set in the breath taking French countryside. We are conveniently just off the N141, only 28 km from Angoulême and a less than an hour by car from Limoges airport.

About Moulin Du Fontcourt
We have carefully maintained the original features of the buildings and surroundings to make this your place to escape the bustle of life. Not that you will need to give up the convenience of modern facilities, our chambre d’hôtes and Gite are fully equipped and decorated to the highest standards and we offer self-catering and bed & breakfast accommodation – so the choice is yours.
The accommodation consists of a lovely self contained Gite, with plenty of space for 2 adults. There are 4 further bedrooms in the main building, 2 with en-suite and 2 with a shared bathroom. Please note we do not accommodate anyone under 21 as Moulin do Fontcourt is not suitable for children… or anyone looking for a holiday with a swimming pool and karaoke bar. We prefer it relaxed and peaceful, and so do our guests.
When the host and owner Gary Martin (and not forgetting Norfolk Terrier and chief guest greeter, Winnie) fell in love with the property in 2021 he set about continuing to develop the hambre d’hôtes and Gite to make it the beautiful haven that will await you when you visit. Who could resist living in this amazing place in the beautiful South of France, with its short, mild, winters, and it’s long, warm, summers? In fact the area is the second sunniest region in France so, when the house is shining in the sun, there is simply no place better to be.
